The Grande Prairie Children’s Choir is open to children grades 1-6 and offers a tuition free children's choir located in Richton Park for children across the Chicago south suburbs. Led by professional music educators, this program helps kids develop healthy singing skills, learn to read music, perform in concerts, and make new friends — all in a fun, supportive environment. No audition or prior choir experience is needed — just a love of music and a willingness to learn.

About GPCC

After nearly five years away, we are thrilled to bring this beloved program back to the community — now completely free, so every child can access high-quality choral music education.

Even though tuition is free, our program maintains high artistic standards, ensuring every student gains the skills, confidence, and artistry to perform at their very best.

This is not an after-school singalong. Our children’s choir program is designed to:

  • Teach healthy vocal technique and expressive singing

  • Build music literacy by learning to read choral music (octavos)

  • Explore songs from many genres and cultures

  • Develop part-singing skills in a fun, encouraging setting

  • Strengthen rhythm and music theory through movement and percussion activities

Performance Opportunities
  • Students in the Grande Prairie Children’s Choir perform alongside the Grande Prairie Singers (our adult community choir) at our annual GPCA May and December concerts, and also other informal performances throughout the year. These events give children the chance to shine on stage, share their hard work, and experience the thrill of making music in a professional-level setting.
